MUZO Builders, LLC is a North Carolina limited liability company and a licensed General Contractor authorized to perform construction work throughout the entire State of North Carolina (NC License #107273). 2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Full name, mailing address, email address, phone number(s)
• Property address, project type, budget range, scope details provided through quote / job intake forms
• Company name, role, EIN/W-9 information (for subcontractor and vendor onboarding)
• Insurance certificates, license numbers, safety credentials (for subcontractors)
• Photos, drawings, site plans, permits, inspection reports, and other project documentation you upload
• Login credentials and authentication factors for client and contractor portals
• Signed change orders, contracts, and electronic signatures

Information Collected Automatically

• Browser type, operating system, device identifiers, IP address
• Pages visited, time spent, referring URLs, click and scroll patterns
• Cookies, local storage, and similar identifiers used for session continuity, analytics, and security
• Server logs for security monitoring, abuse detection, and uptime diagnostics

Information from Third Parties

• Payment status and transaction metadata from our payment processor (Stripe)
• SMS delivery receipts from our messaging provider (Twilio)

4. SMS / Text Messaging (A2P 10DLC)

If you provide your mobile phone number and check the SMS consent checkbox on our forms, you consent to receive SMS messages from MUZO Builders, LLC.

Opt-In

You opt in by checking the unchecked SMS consent checkbox on our quote or job intake forms before submission. Subcontractors opt in via their onboarding agreement.

Opt-Out

Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT, or REVOKE to any message. You will receive a confirmation reply and no further SMS until you re-subscribe.

Message Frequency, Rates, Carriers

Message frequency varies based on your active projects and pending actions. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier; MUZO Builders does not charge a separate SMS fee. Carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, and others) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

SMS Privacy Commitment

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. All other categories exclude text-messaging-originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only as needed:

• Service providers performing work on our behalf under written agreements: Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS), our hosting and email infrastructure providers, accounting/tax professionals
• Project participants: subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, engineers, architects, and permitting authorities, limited to what each needs to complete their role
• Legal and compliance: law enforcement, regulators, courts, or insurers when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect our legal rights and safety
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer to the successor entity under the same protections

6. Data Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted backups, role-based access controls, two-factor authentication on administrative accounts, server-side input validation, and continuous security monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.

7. Data Retention

• Project files, contracts, change orders, and lien-related records: retained for the period required by NC contractor licensing, lien, and tax law (generally 7 years after project completion)
• Financial records: retained 7 years per IRS and NC tax requirements
• Marketing and quote inquiries that did not become projects: retained 24 months, then deleted
• SMS opt-out records: retained indefinitely to honor the opt-out
• Security logs: retained 12 months, then rotated

8. Your Rights

All Users

• Request a copy of personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion, subject to our legal, contractual, and operational retention requirements
• Opt out of SMS at any time (see Section 4)
• Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link

California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information. Submit requests to info@muzobuilders.com. We will verify your identity before processing.

EU / UK Residents (GDPR)

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our legal bases for processing are contract performance, legitimate interest, and your consent for SMS. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for session continuity and security, and analytics cookies to understand site usage. We do not use behavioral advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser; some site features will not function without them.

10. Children

Our services are intended for individuals 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International Users

MUZO Builders operates in North Carolina, USA. By using our services from outside the United States, you consent to transfer and processing of your information in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of our website or services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
