How do I get a quote?
Submit the
Request a Quote form or call (919) 873-4925. We schedule a 20-minute call within one business day, walk the project, and send a written line-item estimate within 5 business days for typical residential and 10 business days for commercial.
What does a quote include?
Materials, labor, subcontractor scope, permits, dumpster, jobsite cleanup, and a 10% contingency. We separate hard costs from markup so you see exactly what you are paying for. Internal cost sheets are not shared; client-facing line-item PDFs are.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. MUZO Builders LLC is a North Carolina-licensed general contractor (NC Lic. #107273), bonded, with general liability and workers compensation coverage on all field staff. Certificates of insurance are available on request before contract signing.
What areas of North Carolina do you serve?
Primary service area is the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Wake Forest), the I-95 corridor (Rocky Mount, Wilson, Smithfield, Goldsboro), and Charlotte. We take selected projects elsewhere in NC; ask when you submit your quote.
What types of projects do you handle?
New residential builds, full home renovations, kitchen and bath remodels, screened porches and decks, exterior restorations, commercial tenant improvements, retail fit-outs, light industrial, mixed-use renovations, and site work / demolition. We do NOT do pure handyman or sub-k repair work.
How long does a project take?
A kitchen remodel runs 8–12 weeks. A primary bath runs 4–8 weeks. A full custom new build runs 7–11 months from permits-in-hand. Commercial TI varies with landlord coordination — typical 6–14 weeks. Every contract has a written schedule with milestones and an honest weather/permit float.
How does payment work?
A signed contract with milestone draws — typically 10% deposit at signing, then progress draws tied to defined milestones (rough-in, drywall, finish), and a 10% final payment after punch-list completion. We do not require large up-front cash and we do not ask for full payment before substantial completion.
Do you handle permits?
Yes, we pull all required building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing permits in our name as the GC of record, and coordinate inspections. Permit fees are passed through at cost (no markup) and itemized on the estimate.
Can I make changes during construction?
Yes — through written change orders. We price the change, you sign, work proceeds. We do not do verbal change orders because they cause disputes for everyone. Same-day pricing is the goal for small changes.
Do you offer a warranty?
One year on workmanship from substantial completion. Manufacturer warranties on installed products (windows, appliances, roofing, HVAC) pass through to you. Structural items follow the NC statutory warranty period.
Will I have a single point of contact?
Yes. Every project has one project manager who is on site or reachable through the entire build. You also get a shared project portal with the schedule, current draw status, photos, and change orders.
Do you work with my architect or designer?
Yes. We work with your team or bring in our network if you need design help. Design-build (single-team architecture + construction) is also available for projects that benefit from it.
How do you handle subcontractors?
We use a vetted bench of NC subs (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, framing, drywall, roofing, finish carpentry, tile). Every sub carries their own license and insurance. We supervise daily; you do not coordinate trades.
Do you do design-build for new homes on land I already own?
Yes. We can take you from a piece of land through design, permits, construction, and final certificate of occupancy. A separate construction-loan-friendly draw schedule is available for bank-financed builds.
How do I check on the project day-to-day?
You get a weekly written update with photos, the next-week schedule, and any decisions you need to make. The project manager is reachable by phone or text during business hours. Bigger items go to a scheduled call.
What about the CRM / customer login?
The customer portal is being rebuilt. The login link is intentionally hidden from the website until the new portal goes live. Until then, all communication runs through email, phone, and your project manager.
Are you the same company as Newral Properties?
No. MUZO Builders LLC is an independent NC general contractor. Newral Properties LLC is a separate real-estate business under the same founder. The two companies operate under separate contracts, separate insurance, separate teams, and separate licensing.
